All things SUV
Crossovers and SUVs are in fashion. Even supercar manufacturers are getting into the SUV market with vehicles such as the Lamborghini Urus. We are aware Ferrari has a new SUV in the works, but we found some designs by Giorgi Terodze. These are definitely worth sharing. The Prancing Horse badge is worn by one of the two, while the other imagines an SUV made by a company who has stated repeatedly that it will not follow that path. We’re talking about McLaren.
Let’s start with the McLaren, Tedoradze calling the 820X. Although it’s not as detailed as Ferrari, the fan rendering shows the iconic headlamps from the McLaren. 720S . The large assemblies look great on an SUV McLaren platform. Beef. We find the McLaren highboy side with small greenhouse to be quite anti-McLaren. However, we also think that a McLaren SUV would be highly unusual. Despite McLaren’s strong stance against sport-utility cars, this could be an indication of what others think is inevitable.
Although it has a different overall shape than the McLaren, the Ferrari rendering – the X712 – features more detail. It has broad sides and slim windows. The body is similar to the Ford Edge ST. While the SUV is mostly an aesthetic package, we think this Ferrari would perform well with a twin-turbo V8 under its big bonnet. Although the rendering is quite crude, we prefer the shape of that grille to be less Aston Martin.
The Ferrari SUV is in development. It’s called Purosangue. We learned earlier this year that it will use a front-mid engine design, which can also include a hybrid powertrain. McLaren is firm in its no-SUV position.
