It looks great without the roof.
McLaren unveiled the Artura hybrid hypercar last week. It offers significant performance and a very affordable price. McLaren only showed the fix-roofed coupe. This is a first for McLaren, which incorporates the latest safety tech, batteries, and its “E-Motor” technology. Although McLaren has not yet indicated whether a convertible version will be available, Motor.es provided an unofficial rendering to show what it would look like.
The Artura It is more mainstream than the previous supercars but it still looks great. McLaren. The Artura Spider render removes the roof which dramatically changes the greenhouse. The drop-top’s sloped roof is replaced by a pair roll hoops. A pane of glass is also shown between the roll hoops. This would reduce wind noise and buffeting. The Artura’s elegant styling is perfect for this, as little else has changed.
McLaren is yet to decide if the Artura can be converted into a convertible. This is the first McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture model that can be used with hybrid powertrains. The Artura’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 is powered by an electric motor in its transmission bell housing. This produces 671 horsepower (500kW) and 593 pounds-feet (804 Newton meters) of torque. The car can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.0 seconds. It has a maximum speed of 205 mph (329 KPH).
McLaren has not indicated that they are planning an Artura Spider. However, the company remains mum about any future products. McLaren would likely charge more for such a model than the hardtop model. The base model starts at $225,000 in the US. This not only gives you lots of performance but also includes soft-close doors and adaptive cruise control. It also has high-beam assistance, Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Android Auto. This package is very appealing and could benefit from the convertible treatment.
