Memphis PD: Mustang Occupants Are Shot Corvette Drivers For Refusing to Race

Unbelievable.

It is difficult to imagine how something like this could occur, let alone put it into words. This opposite is what you need to restore your faith in humanity. It’s difficult to believe that there is more to the story than what has been reported. It’s not possible for humanity to be so bad.

Memphis PD: Mustang Occupants Are Shot Corvette Drivers For Refusing to Race

These facts are straight from Memphis, Tennessee Police Department. Police were on the scene at 5070 Raleigh Lagrange Road on the northeastern side of Memphis, Tennessee on October 24th. According to the report, a blue Ford Mustang from 2000 sat in a parking lot and confronted a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. After the Mustang drivers refused to race, the Mustang occupants fired shots at Corvette drivers multiple times. The condition of the Corvette driver remains unknown. However, Memphis police have listed the incident as an assault with aggravated intent instead of murder. We hope that the driver is still alive and well. Except for the identification of the Corvette driver, which is a male, the report does not provide any details about the occupants of either car. Although it is not clear if the Corvette had a passenger, the report suggests that at least two people were in the Mustang. It is not clear who fired the shots or if there were more than one shooter. The Mustang suspects are still at large as of October 29. These are the facts. We’re still looking for more information on the internet. Who shoots someone multiple times just because they don’t want to race? This is an absurd street race, so we assume it was. We know how fierce street racers can be, but why would you shoot someone? We may be being too naive but we refuse to lower the bar for humanity.

This is where road rage or a pre-existing relationship that led to racing rejection makes more sense. Is it possible to commit a violent crime while police are nearby? Evidently, there were no active brain cells in the Mustang. It was not in trying to stop another car from parking in a lot. It is not a good idea to try and set up a street race. Absolutely not when you are trying to shoot the driver.
