Mercedes AA Class is a SNL spoof that’s worth a laugh

It is billed as the first electric luxury sedan powered by AA batteries.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, a star of Veep and Seinfeld, introduced the new Mercedes AAA Class during a Saturday Night Live appearance.n The model, which is described as “the first fully electric luxury sedan powered entirely with AA batteries”, is based on the Class. It features a high-tech powertrain that allows the car to be zero-emissions and can travel up to 52 mph. The car’s top speed is not the only problem. To run the AA Class, you will need 9,648 AA batteries that are not included in the purchase price. The model is a bit expensive as the 48-pack of Duracell Coppertop Alkaline AAA batteries costs $18. This means that an entire set would cost you $3,618. Julia Louis-Dreyfus highlights the positive side of things, pointing out that owners will no longer have to deal changing stations or with power cords.

The AA Class is loaded with equipment, including a Bose stereo system and a GPS navigation system. There’s also ample storage space for extra AA batteries in the trunk, which is typical Mercedes design. The ribbon release system allows for the replacement of individual or multiple batteries. It sends all 9,648 of them out of four holes in the body.
