It will be on display in Frankfurt next month.
Brabus unveiled its tuning program for Mercedes-Benz A-Class in December 2013. It gives it 267 horsepower (199 kilowatts), and 317 pound-feet (335 Newton-meters) with a turbo-powered 2.0-liter engine. This was just two months after Mercedes-AMG revealed the A35 modification to the hatchback. Now, the Brabus’ specialists are also working on this model.
The A35 produces 302 horsepower (225 kW) or 295 lbft (400 Nm), from a 2.0-liter turbo. It reaches all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch auto. The PowerXtra B 35 tuning package from Germany boosts these figures by 43 hp (32kW) as well as 339 lbft (3460 Nm) of torque. This is an increase of 44 lbft (60Nm) and 43 hp (42/32kW). The program also includes new performance mapping and an increase in boost pressure.
Brabus offers the PowerXtra+ package B 35 S, which adds an optimized exhaust flow system and more power. This engine is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline four-cylinder engine. It produces a peak power output of 365 horsepower (268 kW) as well as 359 lbft (486 Nm). The more powerful of the two kits gives the hot hatch a 0-62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) sprint in just 4.4 seconds, making it half a second slower than the quickest-accelerating factory A-Class, the A45 S.
An aerodynamic body kit with a two-piece front diffuser, a fixed rear wing and a stainless sport exhaust system, integrated sound management, carbon fiber tips and other options, allows for increased power. The hot-hatch is equipped with Brabus Monoblock T gloss dark alloy wheels and Pirelli P Zero 35 ZR 19 tires.
Brabus will display the tuned A35 at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
