The hybrid-assisted four cylinder is used instead of a V8.
We know there are new Mercedes-Benz C-Class models coming. Here’s a detailed look at the Estate in cold-weather development in Scandinavia.
The C63 will look very similar to the C-Class, but with more aggressive touches. Panamericana grille will be added with vertical slats, larger fascia inlets and a Panamericana grille. These sills are prominenter. The roof is crowned with four trapezoidal exhaust pipes.
The wheels on this C63 are mismatched with wide tires wrapped around them. While the wheels in the front are Y-shaped, the rear has a 10-spoke design. They are visible behind large, drilled brakes.
Although these images do not show the interior of the cabin, it is safe to assume that the cabin will have all the same amenities as the standard C-Class. The new model features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with 11.9-inch infotainment screen that dominates the middle stack. Sporty touches include large bolsters to support drivers in aggressive driving and carbon fiber trim throughout.
Mercedes has already confirmed engine details for the C63. The company has to reduce its current V8-powered four-cylinder engine to a hybrid-assisted four cylinder powerplant . Although it has a smaller displacement, the power output should still be impressive at over 500 horsepower (373kilowatts). There is only one gearbox option, and it’s a nine-speed manual. The new model could use a high-tech all wheel-drive system similar to the E63.
The new C63 may not arrive until the end of 2017. Mercedes introduces new variants slowly every few months as part of its normal launch schedule. Although the C63 may debut in 2021, it is possible that it will be released next year.
