It is not expected that it will be available for sale before next spring.
The Mercedes-AMG-EQS was being taken by our spy photographers as it left AMG’s headquarters at the Nurburgring. Although it is more camouflaged than the prototype, this is not our first view of the Mercedes-AMG EQS high-performance electric sedan. The AMG EQS isn’t much different from the EQS that the company showed earlier in the year.
Camouflage is still worn on the car, but only a few pieces. The rear valance and the “grille”, are also covered. A portion of the liftback is also camouflaged. The AMG EQS is still visible from the rest of the liftback. Looks like the regular model . Any styling changes are subtle. There are signs that AMG is present. You can see the carbon-ceramic brakes and yellow AMG-branded brake discs. It might be a little lower than the non-AMG version.
Although the AMG electric sedan is said to have 600 horsepower (447kilowatts), Mercedes has not confirmed this number. The AMG electric sedan is expected to produce 663 pound-feet (898 Newton meters) of torque and will be connected to an all-wheel drive system. This is a substantial increase in power over the EQS 580 4Matic, which produces 516 hp (385 kW), and 611 lb/ft (828 Nm). The EQS580 can go from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. However, the AMG version is faster.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS will be competing against the Tesla Model S Plaid which is the California brand’s performance sedan. It’s expected that the updated Tesla will arrive this year, beating out the AMG EQS which is due to be available in spring 2022. Mercedes has plenty of time to make adjustments to the EV before it goes on sale in showrooms. A reveal should be expected later in the year.
