American’s fastest SUV, the GLC SUV, joins their ranks.
The Coupe body type was the only option if you wanted the MercedesBenz GLC 63S with 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts). In 2018, the GLC’s speedy, sloped-roof model was available in the USA as the only “S”, while the Coupe and traditional SUV were offered in Europe. There is good news for speed-lovers looking for a small SUV.
Along with the Coupe already in-sales, the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S will be available in the States. Huzzah! It’s been four years since the GLC 63 S crossover was introduced in Europe. But, thankfully, the car didn’t lose much in its long journey across the Atlantic.
The GLC 63 S’s central touchscreen runs the Mercedes MBUX infotainment software. It features unique touches such as an augmented reality head-up display, borrowed from the GLE/GLS, and a few AMG-specific details. The standard GLC63 has the same features as the AMG steering-wheel drive mode dial and capacitive buttons.
The 2022 Mercedes AMG GLC63 S SUV will go on sale in the US later in the year. However, no information has been released about pricing. The non-S GLC63 63 is $86,795 and the 2021 model year will see the S version costing an additional $1,295
