Mercedes will combine a turbo 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor.
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the all-new GLC last month but only the standard models were available. Although the AMG version is not yet available, we have seen spy photos that suggest it will soon. Mercedes conceals the GLC 63’s sportier styling beneath a thin layer camouflage, which can’t hide its naughtier nature. Mercedes covers both the front and rear fascias. However, the quad tailpipes reveal the trim. This is not your standard GLC and we expect to see some major changes. The squared-off exhaust is a sign that the engine is not typical . The GLC 63 will come with a hybrid powertrain that combines its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor.
The GLC’s plug in hybrid powertrain is still unknown. However, the GLC and C Class are identical and the AMG C63 will produce up to 670 horsepower (500kilowatts). The turbo 2.0-liter would produce more than 400 horsepower, while the electric motor will provide the remainder of the power. However, previous rumors suggest that the two vehicles could make close to 600 horsepower (447 kW). Visual upgrades will also be given to the powerful GLC. Camouflage is used to conceal the sportier front bumper. It has a wider lower opening and the Panamericana grille makes it stand out. The AMG exhaust pipes are housed in the rear bumper.
The spy shots gave us a glimpse at the interior. However, it isn’t any different to what we saw earlier this month. The interior of the new GLC features a large tablet screen at its top with separate driver’s display. Mercedes can concentrate on the other variants now that the regular GLC has been officially revealed. The company will unveil the AMG GLC63 later in the year, before it arrives for the 2023 model years. It may not be available in the US until next year. Mercedes will also offer less powerful AMG GLC versions.
