Mercedes and IWC will reach out to One buyers to determine if they are interested in this watch.
It’s a unique experience to be among the 275 people who have purchased a Mercedes-AMG One. But watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has made it even more special by making a timepiece available only to vehicle owners. It is known by the long name Big Pilot’s watch Constant Force Tourbillon Edition AMG one owners.
The dial of the One Owners Watch features many eye-catching elements. The exposed constant-force tourbillon is located at 9 o’clock. It has the running seconds displayed on top. A double moon phase display displays both the northern and south hemispheres at 2 o’clock. At 4 o’clock is the gauge for the 96-hour reserve power. IWC claims that the design is meant to evoke a speedometer.
The dial is black and has a stacked outer section. This gives it a look that draws inspiration from the One’s air intakes. Petronas Green highlights are a tribute to Mercedes-AMG Formula One’s primary sponsor.
The watch’s main case is made of titanium aluminide. This material is also used in places such as jet engine turbos. The dial’s outer section is sandblasted and the ring is polished. These two sections are separated by a narrow Petronas Green section. IWC’s Ceratanium material, which combines the properties of ceramics and titanium, is used as the caseback.
It measures 46.2 millimeters wide and 13.5 millimeters high.
The rubber strap is black on the outside, and green inside. The outer part of the timepiece is decorated with multiple Mercedes stars, in Petronas Green.
The IWC 94800 calibre manual wound movement runs at 18,000 vibrations an hour. The watch features IWC’s patent-pending constant-force mechanism, which keeps the timepiece at the same speed despite receiving less torque from its mainspring.
IWC didn’t announce the price of Big Pilot’s Watch Constant Force Tourbillon Edition AMG one owners. Mercedes and the watchmaker will instead contact hypercar buyers to see if they are interested in purchasing this timepiece.
