German tuner offers a performance upgrade to the 5.5-liter V8 from the CL 500. New wheels, suspension upgrades and interior refinements are all included.
VATH, a German tuner, has unveiled a new kit to convert the Mercedes-Benz CL 500 (C216).
Tuning starts under the hood with an ECU remap and new sport camshafts. Stainless-steel sport catalysts are also included. The output is now up to 460 PS (338kW/ 454bhp) & 600 (442lb-ft. Nm) – an increase from the previous 388 PS (285kW/ 383bhp).
The new CL 500 BlueEfficiency has a twin-turbo, 4.6-liter V8 that produces 435 PS (429 BHP / 320 Kw) and 700 Nm (516 Lb-ft) respectively.
The speed limiter has been raised to 290 km/h (181 mph). A sport exhaust system is installed with stainless steel manifolds and catalytic converters. To improve performance and efficiency, VATH adds fuel and oil coolers.
The aerodynamic kit includes a front spoiler lip and rear diffuser, as well as a trunk-lip spoiler. All made from high quality carbon.
The wheels and suspension are upgraded with 20-inch forged wheels that have tires of 285/25ZR20 at each end and 245/30ZR20 at either the front or the rear. The package also includes a three-way adjustable suspension and a performance brake system.
The interior of the German tuner’s car comes in carbon-fiber trims, either in black or multicolored carbon. There are several sport steering wheel options, including a speedometer with a reading of up to 360 km/h. Black suede mats feature embroidered silver logos and are available.
