Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe And Cabrio Won’t Be Renewed

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe And Cabrio Won't Be Renewed
The 2020 launch of the all-new S Class sedan is planned, but it will only be available in four doors.

Some Mercedes-Benz S-Class variants seem to be in trouble, at least for future development. Automobile magazine provides a detailed report on Stuttgart’s luxury carmaker’s near-term activity, which covers the period from now to 2023. Yes, electric cars and more SUVs are on the horizon. However, the report doesn’t predict that we will see any new versions of either the S Class Coupe or Cabriolet.

Modern-day S-Class Coupe was introduced for the 2015 model year. It evolved from the CL-Class before it. The current S-Class Cabriolet was introduced a year later, and eventually spawned a Maybach version. The models received minor facelifts last year. In 2020, the S-Class Sedan will be getting an all-new model. Although there is some demand for a six-figure-plus luxury sedan, it is not as strong as the desire for a larger two-door or roofless model. Automobile states that while the coupe/cabrio will continue to exist into the 2020s, it won’t be transitioning to the new S-Class platform. They will eventually disappear.

A new S-Class Coupe is priced at $125,000. This price includes a 463-horsepower (345 kilowatts) 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 as well as luxurious accommodations. However, it isn’t as stylish as a fully-equipped model with the Burmester sound and AMG styling packages. However, this car can be purchased for upwards of $160,000. The Cabriolet is even more expensive, with full-on AMG models going well over $200,000

Mercedes won’t be leaving the luxury, high-end two-door world. In 2020, a new SL Class will be available. The AMG could also be offered to S-Class buyers who want top-notch travels and savvy rides with only two doors. Mercedes has been able to reverse its course throughout its history.
