Mercedes C-Class Facelift captured flaunting new taillights

The new headlights have also been added to the vehicle, though this prototype didn’t seem to have them.

Our spies last saw a prototype of the slightly redesigned Mercedes C-Class. It had a pair of new LED headlights that were the same design as the CLS. Another test vehicle was spotted, and it had production-ready taillights with new graphics. You can decide if the new look is a significant improvement over the existing rear lighting clusters. Here’s a side-byside comparison of the old and new.

The prototype, which was thinly camouflaged, also had a new front bumper hidden beneath a bit of black plastic. Exterior changes will not be made to the final car, but it will likely have a modified rear bumper.

In spy shots from the past, we also saw a touchpad that controlled the COMAND infotainment systems. The most interesting thing is that the setup has quietly made its debut in the Wagon . It does not have a scroll wheel as shown in the image below.

These minor modifications are expected to be made to the C Class facelift. However, it is not likely that this will happen immediately. The three-pointed star logo represents a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine “M264”. It has 268 horsepower and is equipped with twin-scroll turbochargers. There’s also an electric 48 V water pump, as well as a belt-driven 48V starter-alternator. The new hardware should significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions for the C-Class.

The Mercedes C-Class will be revealed at a later date, but it may debut before the end of the year. The sedan will be the first, followed by the wagon a few months later, and then the coupe and convertible models.
