Two new colors will be added to the collection. Both shades are silver.
The Mercedes-Benz unveils the updated E-Class, which is an update of the CLS-Class. You will have to look closely to see the larger changes, unless you are wearing one of the two new colors, Mojave or Cirrus silver. Today, Mercedes announced that the 2021 CLS-Class will receive an important update to its infotainment systems. German automaker Mercedes will replace the clunky and outdated COMAND system by the MBUX one.
Two large 12.3-inch LCD screens remain on the CLS’s dash. The digital instrument cluster provides pertinent information to the driver, while the infotainment system is next to it. It is possible to control the MBUX touchscreen from any device, including the old COMAND system. This should make it easier to use. Mercedes has also added active brake assist to CLS as a standard feature.
Two versions of the 2021 CLS will be available: AMG CLS53 and CLS450. Under the hood, nothing has changed. The 450 has the same turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-Six engine with EQ Boost that produces 362 horsepower (269 kilowatts), and 369 poundfeet (509 Newton-meters) torque.
The sprint from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) takes just 5.1 seconds, while the all-wheel drive 4MATIC version is 0.3 seconds faster. This car is the same as the current one. The AMG’s “AMG-enhanced” inline-six produces 429 horsepower (319 kW) as well as 384 lb/ft (581 Nm). It takes 4.4 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60. The engines are paired with a nine speed gearbox.
Mercedes did not release pricing information. The entry-level CLS starts from $69,950 without destination while the AMG starts starting at $81,200. Prices shouldn’t rise if they do. We expect pricing information to be released by the automaker closer to the sedan’s release date. Mercedes also states that the 2021 CLS will arrive at dealers late 2020.
