German police officers will now have a new tool to catch criminals. The launch of a XClass truck for cops is part of the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference 2018. The company will also display several new additions to its portfolio of Polizei-ready models, including more efficient options. The all-wheel-drive version of the X-Class police-spec model is available for improved off-road performance. However, the Polizei livery looks great on the truck. Mercedes will also display police-ready versions of its vans at this show. It will have, for example, a Sprinter that can be customized to serve as a team vehicle. The Vito Tourer will also be available for radio patrol vehicle duty and a standard Vito will be available for customs work.

A new version of the EClass Estate will also attend the show. For greater efficiency, it now features Mercedes’ OM 654 four cylinder diesel engine. Safety tech such as active brake assist and collision warning and pedestrian detection are also available on the wagon. It will also push for better efficiency in the police force by introducing electric assistance. One of the new options will be a GLC350e 4Matic to assist cops. It saves money in town and has a greater range to cover distances on the Autobahn. Mercedes also offers fully electric versions of the Smart Fortwo, and Forfour to be used in towns as special-response vehicles. Mercedes is expanding its electrified police vehicles to include models such as the Vito or Sprinter.
