The 2016 Mercedes E-Class is starting to get new details.
Autobild says the new model will look sportier and more aerodynamic. The new model will also be equipped with the company’s rear-drive architecture, and have a longer wheelbase.
Expect five body styles, including a sedan and a long-wheelbase sedan.
Although engine options are not confirmed, rumors suggest that the car will come with a twin-turbo three-liter inline six. It has a maximum power output of 367 HP (270kW) and 435HP (320kW). A new 2.9-liter diesel engine could be available that produces 313 HP (230kW) or 400 HP (294kW). Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are also possible. These could come with two-liter petrol or diesel engines, backed by an electric motor producing approximately 122 HP (90kW).
