Mercedes looks back to the past in order to see the future.
Mercedes has come up with some amazing concepts in recent years. In 2013, there was the AMG Vision in 2013. 2015 saw the Concept IAA. 2016 saw the Vision Maybach 6, in 2016, 2017 saw the cabriolet and 2017, and now the Vision EQ Silver Arrow. The unassuming concept car, named after the legendary Silver Arrows, is a throwback at the W125. The twelve-cylinder monster that reached 432.7 km/h (268.8 miles) in January 1938…
The new concept car with the three-pointed star, similar to the Lamborghini Egoista of a few years back, is only single-seater. The touchscreen mounted on the steering wheel allows the driver to adjust the sound settings and hear the AMG V8 sound.
The Vision EQ Silver Arrow is purely a showcar. Mercedes shares many technical specifications. The electric powertrain is designed with a powerful output of 750 horsepower (550kilowatts). It feeds from an underbody battery pack and is cooled by the side vents. The vehicle can travel more than 248 miles (400 km) on a single charge.
It has a very unique styling, with a low-slung body that features bulging fenders and an rear central fin that instantly reminds us of the Project One. The intricate rose gold wheels are an art piece. They measure 24 inches in front and 26 inches back, and have 168 spokes.
YouTube’s YouTuber Shmee150 was able to attend the unveiling of the car this week at Pebble Beach. Gorden Wagener, Mercedes’ chief designer, was also there and was happy to share some details about the car’s futuristic shape and interior.
