Mercedes EQE SUV Tested on Public Roads and Nurburgring

The EQS SUV is smaller than its bigger brother, but it has the same design.

Mercedes-Benz will soon have an all-electric version of every core-combustion-powered model in its lineup. This means that the GLE SUV will soon have an all-electric powertrain. It will be distinguished by a new design and the EQE SUV moniker. We have a spy video of a prototype camouflaged that is currently in development. This video is from CarSpyMedia. It shows the electric SUV being tested in Germany. The video shows the EQE SUV driving towards the Nurburgring. In the second part, the machine takes to the track for high-speed testing. Although we don’t know if the model’s potential is fully unleashed in this test, the car looks very composed and fast around the circuit.

Although this prototype is heavily camouflaged, we have already published more photos that show the EQE SUV nearly unmasked. The overall vehicle’s shape and design were revealed by a crash test car that was taken in March. It is very similar to the more expensive EQS SUV. Although there are some differences in styling, they appear very similar overall.

Mercedes has not yet provided any information about the powertrains. However, it would make sense for the EQE SUV and EQE sedan to share their hardware. If this assumption is true, and there’s no reason to believe otherwise, a rear-wheel drive model will be used as the base version. It will have a power output of 288 horsepower (215 Kilowatts) or 391 pound-feet (531 Newton-meters) of torque.

A dual-motor setup with more power is possible. A version AMG-branded with up to 671 horsepower (500 kW) is also possible. Mercedes presented its flagship electric SUV, EQE SUV. Later this year, it will be joined the smaller EQE crossover SUV. Although no official launch date has been confirmed, we believe the model will be available before the end of the year.
