In the coming weeks, a debut will likely be made.
We are happy to share the first batch spy photos of the model, following the first spy footage of the facelifted Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe earlier in the week. This prototype is seen testing on public roads. It has only a thin camouflage wrapping on the headlights and taillights and the front bumper. We believe that the model is still in its final stages of development.
Mid-cycle refresh will only include minor visual changes, including new graphics to the lighting clusters and modified LED daytime running lamps at the front. While the shape of the taillights remains the same, the internal design of these units will change.
The cabin will see more important changes. The crossover-coupe mashup will get an all-digital instrument cluster as well as a larger display for its infotainment system. The GLC Coupe will still be sold by Mercedes with the old COMAND system. However, the next generation of Mercedes’ MBUX system will replace it.
The engines of the new GLC Coupe will be identical to the C-Class’s facelifted version. The 220d and AMG43 versions will have more power. All powertrains will also be updated to comply with the European emissions standards. This will make it mandatory for all new vehicles starting in September.
Mercedes has used very little camouflage in this prototype so we may only be a few weeks or months away before it makes its official debut. Perhaps an online debut will take place before the end of summer, with a public appearance at the Paris Motor Show shortly afterwards. The sales will begin before the end of the year with the first deliveries scheduled for the first week in 2019.
