This layout was seen in the 2022 C-Class.
The next-generation Mercedes GLC Class will have the same underpinnings as the 2022 C Class. But that’s not all they will share. The interior of the new C-Class is very similar to an S-Class, with two large screens. It appears that the GLC will also have a similar interior. New spy video gives a glimpse at the interior camouflaged, showing a digital instrument cluster as well as a large screen that is low to the instrument panel.
The new layout replaces the traditional-looking instrument cluster with an LCD screen. The dashboard-mounted infotainment unit is now in the car’s in-dash display. As the camera approaches, the driver covers up the interior, hiding any details. However, it should look very similar to the interior of the new C-Class. The vehicles are equipped with Modular Rear Architecture by the company, which will help reduce the vehicle’s weight and provide a greater torsional rigidity than the previous model.
The new platform will enable Mercedes offer a variety of powertrains including gasoline and diesel ones. However, it will adopt a bunch of four-cylinders to give it the same horsepower as the C-Class. Customers can expect mild-hybrid or plug-in configurations thanks to the new platform. Even the AMG version will use a four-cylinder engine.
The video shows the test car wearing thick camouflage, false panelling, and stand-in lights. Although the next-gen GLC appears to be riding lower than the current-gen model due to its new platform, we don’t anticipate Mercedes changing the crossover’s proportions in any significant way, even though it may look a little larger. We don’t think the overall styling will be changed much, based on recent Mercedes announcements. Mercedes has been reserved in redesigning its models. The new Mercedes GLC will not be revealed by Mercedes until 2021 or 2022.
