We expect minor changes.
The Mercedes GLE Class will be getting a facelift. Too soon? It was too soon, we thought. Although the current generation of this luxury SUV was only revealed in September 2018, Mercedes-Benz appears to be already testing it on public roads.
A prototype Mercedes GLE was seen last month with very few concealments. Although it is still early days, it seems that a facelift has been initiated. However, there are very few changes to the current model.
Kolesa’s friends went ahead and unwrapped the prototype with modifications that Mercedes fans will be familiar with.
The GLE shown here has the same headlights as the Mercedes S-Class. This is a slight variation from the current model, but it is definitely distinct. The rendering shows a new taillight graphic at the rear. This is also in line with the flagship Merc. Other than those, the GLE spotted last month in Stuttgart has not seen many changes. This is quite normal considering the fact that this model is still relatively new.
These are fictional renderings, so don’t consider them factual. We can also say that the GLE is quite attractive when lit in the same way as the flagship model.
The GLE’s facelift will see some changes inside, but we don’t expect any changes to the side-by sides screen layout. The refreshed model will not include any software updates.
The GLE facelift could debut later in the year or early 2022, as it is still very early in its lifecycle. It could be available in the USA as a model year 2023, and an electric equivalent may also be available under the name EQE SUV.
