Although it reached 197.6 mph, it was not the fastest.
Ah, the Autobahn. We’re sure that this thoroughfare is the envy of all, regardless of where you might be right now.
There were many speed addicts at this speedway, but the most recent was this Mercedes SLS AMG Elmerhaus tuned it. The SLS AMG out of the showroom is already fast, but Elmerhaus could supercharge this coupe to produce 1,025 horsepower (764 KiloWatts).
The SLS AMG’s V8 engine, a 6.2-Liter, could produce 563 horsepower (420 kW) or 479 lbft (650 Nm) of torque. A more powerful version of the SLS AMG’s V8 engine could produce 805 horsepower (600 kW).
The Elmerhaus-tuned SLS AMG in the video is supercharged. This allows it to produce an impressive 1,025 horsepower. Although we aren’t sure what modifications were made to the coupe with gullwing doors, the POV video shows its power.
The run showed that the tuned SLS AMG could travel 318 km/h (197.6 miles/h) on the Autobahn. The only problem is that the original SLS AMG can only reach 315 kph (195.7 miles per hour), which is not far from the speed the tuned version could.
We are left to wonder if this was a top speed run. Reddit provided some helpful information. The same SLS AMG had reached 335 kph (208.2 mph) previously, but the video was not available as of writing. It is not clear why the video was removed, but we know that there is much more to this SLS AMG beyond what was shown in the video.
