In 2022, the new Kangoo will make its debut as the German cousin of Kangoo.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz range of light commercial vehicles was first teased in July this past year. The German manufacturer will launch two distinct models, one more expensive and luxurious than the other. This is similar to the Renault new Kangoo or Express. We have spy photos of the T-Class, which we call the T-Class.
The T-Class was seen testing on European public roads wearing its production body. The camouflage foil hides the shape of the headlights, as well as the C-shaped LED lights in the back. This prototype is unusual in that it rides on alloy wheels, which isn’t common in the LCV sector.
It shouldn’t surprise that the test car has French registration plates. It shouldn’t surprise that the T-Class and the Citan will both be built on the new Renault Kangoo/Express Duo. This means at least one will receive an electric version later in its lifecycle. Mercedes teased the TClass , saying it would be “tailored to families while also being a companion for active leisure lovers.”
The Stuttgart’s new light commercial van is expected to be a significant step forward in technology and materials. It will be clearly identifiable as a Mercedes-Benz vehicle from the first glance, according to the automaker. We expect the same in the interior.
The Citan will be the first LCV from Mercedes’ new range. It should launch in the second half next year. The brand will unveil the more comfortable TClass a few months later in 2022.
