The model range will include more than 20 models by the end of next-year.
Mercedes-Benz has finally released the next generation minibuses after years of testing and development. The four models are all variations of the Sprinter minibus.
The minibuses range is unchanged and includes four models: Sprinter City (Sprinter Transfer), Sprinter Mobility, Sprinter Mobility and Sprinter Travel. Mercedes explained that their names stand for regular operation, which Mercedes describes as a versatile shuttle bus for passengers with limited mobility and tourist transport.
Sprinter City 75 is the manufacturer’s most important minibus. It should be the most loved of all the new minibuses. This bus is a regular-service bus that can carry 38 people. It has a heavy-duty rear axle, and a unique chassis design which allows for a large low-floor platform between both axles. For smaller areas, a shorter version, City 45, will be available.
Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment systems are available on board the minibus. They replace the old rotary knobs/touchpads and now have a touchscreen. The touchscreen provides easy access to all infotainment functions as well as a parking cam and 360-degree view. Air conditioning is provided in the passenger compartment and driver’s areas.
The Sprinter Transfer is available in four lengths: 232 inches (5.9m) to 303 inches (7.7m). Sprinter Mobility 45 is the top-of-the-line model. It was designed for those with limited mobility.
Step by step, Mercedes will introduce the new minibus series. The Sprinter Transfer 23 and 35 will arrive first before the year ends. Sprinter Mobility 23 and 23, Sprinter Mobility 23 and 23, Sprinter Mobility 23 and 25, and Sprinter City 75 will all be available. They will be joined next year by all versions Sprinter Travel. By 2019, there will be more than 20 left and right-hand drive models.
