Mercedes V-Class by Mansory is A First-Class Lounge for The Road

This machine is ideal for organizing executive conferences on the Autobahn.

Mansory is the latest in a long line of high-end tuners who have been upfitting the MercedesV-Class, also known as the sleek luxury van that’s not available in the United States. Although vans with tricked-out interiors were once very popular, this was before televisions in vehicles was a common feature. These multimedia systems are common equipment in luxury people movers. Mansory’s efforts now focus more on the busy executive who would prefer a rolling first-class suite.

Mansory starts with a V250d and adds some carbon-fiber bits. The 250’s front lip features prominent air ducts with integrated LED daytime lamps. This adds a sporty touch to its face. The trapezoid exhaust tips feature a subtle diffuser and are located low to the rear. Mansory spoilers are used for the tailgate, roof, and tailgate. The exterior features are completed with a two-tone paint job and carbon-fiber mirror housings. 19-inch wheels complete the look.

The best place to be is inside. Mansory’s standard configuration can accommodate up to eight people. However, it can be configured to seat four more by adding a meeting area in the back for four. The two comfort seats at the rear have full massage and recline capabilities. They are separated by a central console, which can include an optional refrigerator. A pair of conference chairs can be extended to face the rear and are located opposite the comfort seats. A central touch screen controls all electronics, including Wi-Fi, seat functions and the required TV.

Mansory’s mobile office is ultra-luxury and features plenty of Alcantara leather and wood. The 250d gets a fresh trim on the dash and aluminum pedals. A new sport steering wheel is also available with carbon fiber shift paddles. This executive hauler isn’t fast, but it can overcome its limitations thanks to programming magic that allows Mansory to pull an additional 52 horsepower (39kW) from the four-cylinder diesel. The 250d’s tweaked powertrain can travel an acceptable 130 miles per hour with a total output of 252 horsepower, and 369 pound-feet torque.

Mansory does not mention the price of its V-Class Merc upfitted, but similar models like the Brabus Corporate Lounge can cost more than $300,000. This is a lot for people who want a van for camping. But, for busy executives, there are better ways to make million-dollar deals than sitting in traffic.
