It is basically a house on wheels.
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class model is versatile enough on its own, but when it’s transformed into a Marco Polo recreational vehicle, it offers owners more options. The Marco Polo camper was launched last year. Now, the three-pointed Star logo company has created a second derivative with the “Horizon” suffix.
You can actually live in it, as it comes with all the amenities that you would need, such as a kitchenette and bench seat with extension or roof bed. There are also swiveling front chairs and a wardrobe. The Marco Polo, a V-Class-based Marco Polo, can hold four people. However the Horizon can convert to a five-seater. It has two front seats that can be swivel and one bench/berth at the back. The cabin can also have four comfortable seats, or Mercedes can fit in seven. The recreation vehicle can easily be converted into a van if you need to transport large cargo.
A roof bed is available, and it can hold two people. The bench seat/berth that’s mounted in the back, with two drawers beneath, can be converted into a bed for up to three people depending on the seating arrangement. This RV can accommodate seven people, and provides sleeping options for five.
V-Class Marco Polo Horizon can be ordered with wood-like trim and piano lacquer-look accents. The optional AMG Line pack can be added to the RV for an extra cost. This will give it a sportier look.
There are two types of rear-wheel drive layouts. Power comes from either all-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive diesel engines. These deliver 134 hp (100%), 161hp (120%), and 188hp (14%). They are channeled to the roads through a seven speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes will be hosting the world premiere for the V-Class Marco Polo Horizon at the Geneva Motor Show next week, but it is already taking orders in Germany, where the base model starts at EUR52,051 or about $54,830.
