Mercedes X-Class by Carlex Design Is the Maybach of Pickup Trucks

This is what happens when a pickup truck Navara-based borrows features form a Maybach cabrio.

The Mercedes X-Class pickup truck is undoubtedly the most luxurious. But Carlex Design gave the posh workhorse the Maybach treatment. The limited-edition HTML650 Cabriolet front grille and wheels are the same as the Maybach-branded models, while the interior features the same Nappa Porzellan leather upholstery.

The Polish experts added an aftermarket carbon fiber body kit to make it stand out from the regular X-Class. The pickup truck looks beefier with new bumpers at the front and rear, large wheel arches and side mirror caps. There is also a sports bar at its back, where the bed is covered in beautiful teak.

There are 15 new parts on the exterior. These truly make the X-Class standout. Also, the Porcelain white paint with chocolate brown accents makes it even more attractive. There are several badges and “Yachting Edition” lettering on the sides, as well as the front bumper that has been reworked.

The inside story is similar. Carlex Design took the Mercedes’ pickup truck and customized the cabin. The standard front seats are gone. Instead, a pair of Recaro Sportster leather seats were installed. Leather is everywhere, and you can find it in the same two-tone color to match the exterior.

Wood is used on the dashboard, and even the partially reshaped steering wheel in white leather to emphasize the body’s connection. Alcantara has been used to cover the headliner with an embossed motif. Even the back of center console is covered in leather. Carlex Design has made it difficult to find any area of the cabin that has not been covered by Alcantara with an embroidered motif.

All these changes, as you would expect, come with a price. A complete makeover can cost you EUR105,000, which includes the vehicle. That works out to $122,330. The final price depends on what upgrades you choose and, obviously, on which X-Class model. There are no production numbers, so conversions may be slow.
