According to a new report, the MINI Beachcomber concept may soon be in production.
A new report indicates that MINI’s expanding line-up could be getting another addition. It is based on the Beachcomber concept.
Auto Express reports that MINI’s Global Brand Manager Dr. Wolfgang Armbrecht stated, “We will return to this (the Beachcomber idea) to determine if there is a business base, as we were overwhelmed with the response.” MINI will not show a concept that doesn’t go into production. He added that MINIs need authentic names, which could indicate that the production version of the concept will sport the Moke moniker.
The preview of the Countryman crossover was shown at the 2010 North American International Auto Show. As you may be aware, the Beachcomber concept first appeared at the North American International Auto Show. The Beachcomber was a MINI-ified Jeep Wrangler and featured removable doors as well as a canvas roof.
