Mini Ford Raptor, Built on UTV Is Our New Favorite Thing

You get the best of both worlds in one off-roader.

The Ford Raptor is the best choice if you are looking for speed and hardiness on sandy trails. It was the first sport truck to be built out of the desire for the Baja 1000. The Raptor’s offroad performance is exceptional in comfort and style (and with air-conditioning), making it attractive to both off-roaders as well as normal truck buyers.

However, there is one caveat to the Raptor. The Raptor’s weight and large dimensions mean that both weight and agility are sacrificed. Performance utility terrain vehicles (UTVs), or side-by sides, are the answer. UTVs have a shorter wheelbase than the Ford Raptor and a lighter body structure. They are great for serious off-roaders who love to get dirty and go fast. The problem is that UTVs come with bare wheels, so you’ll be really dirty and sweaty when you go off-roading.

Knine Racing wants to bridge the gap between UTVs, Ford Raptors, and that brings us to the Mini Raptor (gallery below).

Knine Mini Raptor was built on top of a Can-Am Maverick X3, with styling that is undeniably Raptor’s. It is a closed-cab design, meaning it has protection from dirt and air-conditioning. The Ford Raptor, which weighed 5,500 pounds, is still quite light at 2,500 pounds.
