How often do you actually look at the roof of a vehicle?
Mini has introduced a Multitone roof that gives a gradient effect with three- and five-door Hardtop, and the Clubman. This new layout allows car buyers to add visual flair to their vehicle. This layout is already available on the Mini Cooper SE.
Since the beginning of the Mini, a contrasting roof was a standard feature. Multitone roof is an extension of this. It uses a wet-on–wet painting process that creates a vibrant color gradient that shifts from the rear to the front
Multitone roofs transition from San Marino Blue in front to Pearly Aqua at the middle, and then Jet Black at its tail. It is definitely eye-catching, and we are curious how many people try to take a look at the Mini’s top.
Mini applies Pearly Aqua, the lightest shade, to achieve this effect. Next, apply the two other colors to the top. Although the process is completely automated, there will be slight variations in the pattern for each vehicle. This gives them an extra special touch.
The Multitone roof allows buyers to choose almost any color for the body. This effect can’t be combined for the Mini Hardtop with British Racing Green metallic or Chili Red. Buyers can’t also order the Clubman metallic in Indian Summer Red.
Multitone effects are available with optional panoramic glass roofs and roof rails.
Mini, like many other auto brands is in transition. Mini plans to launch its last combustion-powered vehicle by 2025. The company intends to stop offering ICE products and become an entirely electric brand by 2030.
