This special model celebrates the 60th anniversary of the music label.
David Brown Automotive, a British boutique carmaker, has released a new model, the Mini Remastered Marshall Edition. Marshall Amplification has joined forces with the automaker to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the music label. A special-edition Mini Remastered model incorporates the brand’s aesthetic in the iconic Mini.
With unique visual touches inside as well as out, the Mini Remastered Marshall Edition stands apart from other David Brown Automotive’s Mini Remastered models. Marshall Black exterior paint is applied to the 60 cars. It’s accented with Marshall Gold paint accents and dark-chrome brightwork. These colors are well-known for their association with the music company. The Mini gets a hand-painted coachline, pinstripes and Marshall branding on its doors.
The paintwork has gold touches beyond the paintwork. Mini’s 12-inch black wheels get gold accents and Marshall’s gold “M” logo on the center caps. The wheels conceal gold brake calipers. This color is also used on Marshall’s grille. It was designed to replicate Marshall’s front-end audio equipment. Hand-made badges in Marshall Gold enamel complete the exterior.
Marshall and David Brown Automotive continue their black-and-gold branding. All of the gold accents are found on the dash, center console and switchgear. Even the pedals, which are made of gold, have “Skip Track” and “Play” (accelerator), as well as “Pause (brake) inscribed into them. The black leather seats are hand-trimmed and have contrast gold stitching.
There are also some audio upgrades to the car that go beyond the standard system. These include new speakers mounted on the dash and other improvements. The brand’s new MOtif ANC wireless earbuds are housed in the glove compartment. There is also a charging port.
The car’s greatest feature is the trunk. It houses a fully integrated Marshall DSL1 Combo amplifier. The car comes with an independent power supply but also has a Marshall Emberton portable Bluetooth speaker that can be used to play more mobile music.
The Mini pairs a 1.3 liter A-series engine with a five-speed manual transmission. Marshall and David Brown Automotive will donate 10% of every sale to the Music Venue Trust. This UK charity helps independent concert venues that have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
