Let’s go back in time to when MPVs were so cool.
In recent months, we’ve been talking a lot more about the Mitsubishi Delica. The Japanese manufacturer has made a number of pickups and vans over the years that have evolved into a unique MPV-SUV hybrid. We saw the major overhaul to the current generation Delica. This was followed by the rugged offroad concept. We showed you a compact motorhome that was based on the pre-facelift model . Now it’s time for another step back in history.
Today, we recall the fourth generation Delica, which was, depending on where you live, also known as the L400 or Space Gear and Starwagon. This particular example comes from the Chamonix trim level, which has a rugged exterior and some interior changes compared to regular cargo or passenger variants.
The engine is a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine, which was the flagship powertrain of the fourth-gen Delica. It is sending power to all four wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox and a part time AWD system. This configuration is a popular choice because it’s both fun and reliable.
The car is headed to Canada from Japan, with less than 62,000 miles (99.800 km) and in excellent overall condition. The interior is in mint condition and only needs a little extra cleaning. It has minor dents on the exterior, so it will only need a little waxing and polishing to make it look brand new. This is a loaded vehicle with an electric sunroof and automatic climate control. It also has individual armrests for each seat. Rear AC control can be used to control the temperature. There are tons of AC blowers and cup holders.
