There is a catch.
Mitsubishi now has a new Outlander. It looks completely different from its predecessor. The new Mitsu won’t be available until later in the year. Minnesota residents may be eligible for a discount if they live there.
CarsDirect reports that the automaker has created a bizarre incentive to assist victims of catalytic converter thefts within the state. If your vehicle has been stolen, regardless of brand or model, you can get a $750 discount on any Mitsubishi including the 2022 Eclipse Cross.
A bulletin was sent to dealers by the brand and obtained by CarsDirect. It states that customers must submit an insurance claim estimate showing the extent of damage to their vehicle between December 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021 to be eligible for the discount. The campaign is only available to Minnesota customers, for unknown reasons.
As more people work remotely and leave their cars unattended for many weeks, catalytic converter thefts have skyrocketed in recent months . According to The New York Times, California now wants business owners to take photos or videos of anyone selling catalytic converters. Although Mitsubishi is not among the most popular brands, unlike Toyota’s Prius, the company’s latest discount is unmatched in the industry.
CarsDirect says you can combine the $750 incentive with other offers. The publication mentions that the Outlander is still available at 0.9 percent APR for 72-months and a $1,000 bonus.
