This is a difficult business.
At the time of writing, and for a few years more, the Mitsubishi lineup is limited to four vehicles in the US. Six if you include the Outlander PHEV sedan and the Mirage G4 sedan.
Only the smallest of the six models was included. Outlander The 2022 model year saw a major improvement in terms of technology, and the Eclipse Cross This year, the Mirage hatchback and Mirage G4 sedan received a major overhaul. The Mirage hatchback as well as the Mirage G4 sedan received new faces.
The improvement in the new halo model, which shares its foundations with the Nissan Rogue, is generally well received by dealers. Automotive News reports that Ryan Gremore, president at O’Brien Auto Team, Illinois, stated that the Outlander is their favorite Mitsubishi in years.
In the same report, dealers expressed uncertainty about the brand’s future. This lineup refers to all of the lineup, except for the Outlander Cross and Eclipse Cross.
While the Outlander Sport is still on the same platform as in 2011, the Mirage dates back to 2014. Expect the facelifted models to be kept for a few years. The OutlanderPHEV is built on the previous-generation model. It will be sold as a 2022 model until it arrives.
There are still some redesigned models that will be available. Mitsubishi announced that it will use Renault platforms to build new vehicles. However, they won’t be available in the US. The same applies to the new plug-in Eclipse Cross as well as the revamped Triton/Strada pickup that were sold elsewhere in the world.
Dealers know this, Gremore noting that Mitsubishi has no other platform in their near future.
