Some bolt-on modifications can transform the M5 into a “supercar killer” by making it more attractive.

The current generation BMW HTML5 (F90 chassis), is a remarkable piece of machinery. The 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 engine produces 600 horsepower (617 when equipped with the competition package) and 553 lb/ft.

The F90 HTML5, which has a rear-biased all-wheel drive system, is lighter than the F10M5 it replaces, at just over 4000 pounds. Although it’s not lightweight, the 600 horsepower M5 can move two tons. Car & Driver tested a 2018 model and found that it could do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and a quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds.

This is definitely supercar bait. However, this modified example, as seen in a YouTube video by DragTimes, is a true supercar killer. We are treated to an extensive list of bolt-on modifications to the M5 before we can see it against a stock Lamborghini Huracan MP610-4.

The M5 was given a full exhaust, modified charge pipes and intake, tune, and water/methanol injector. The M5 is still running on pump gas and the modifications can be easily copied on any other M5.

The M5 pulls on Huracan from the beginning and doesn’t stop, gradually increasing the gap from one and half to two cars each run. It’s close, however. The BMW consistently runs in the 10.6 seconds range, while Huracan runs around 10.7 seconds.

We are not sure that Huracan’s owner expected a Huracan performance sedan to be able to compete with him, let alone win. While both cars are impressive, the M5 is a little more impressive.
