Modified Nissan Patrol/Armada is a tough camper that can go anywhere

It comes from the Land Down Under, so it’s not surprising.

The Nissan Armada (or Patrol in some parts of the world) has been long considered a capable off-roader, even from the showroom. It is one of the best SUVs you can buy. This includes the fifth-generation GU model.

What could be better than a Nissan Patrol for off-road applications. A modified camper version is possible, and this example from the Land Down Under fits that bill.

Marty, a man named Marty, owns this Nissan Patrol. It started as a cab/chassis, but was later modified for camping and off-roading. Although Patrol campers may not be the only option in Australia, this is probably the most practical and well-thought-out.

It’s made for camping long distances for extended periods of time. Marty shared with me that they had stayed at camp for six months previously. This is likely the reason campers are called motorhomes.

This Patrol can be modified in many ways, but the 4.2-liter turbo diesel engine is still used. It’s mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. You can cook, shower, and sleep inside the camper. You can even go completely off-grid using the solar panels.

This camper has something special because each part serves a purpose. It maximizes the space available to the SUV. It is difficult to explain everything in words so we recommend you watch the video embedded above. Although it’s quite long, the 40-minute video will provide inspiration and build ideas for your offroad camper.
