Monster Jam, arguably the most adrenaline-pumping motorsport in the world, is back in the news. Colton Eichelberger, a Paxton-born driver of monster trucks, set a new record last Saturday for the longest jump. He flew over seven trucks in a jump of 144 feet (43.9 meters). This feat was performed at Monster Jam’s World Finals at Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida.

The previous record was also set by Eichelberger’s dad, Tom Meentz (12-time Monster Jam World Finals Champion). It took the young driver just a few acceleration runs and the right approach to make his truck weigh 12,000 pounds (5,443-kilograms). The Drive describes the jump.
