Monstermax Pickups Can Float and Drive Into Gulf Of Mexico

A pickup on the water attracts a lot of attention.

The situation is not good if a vehicle drives into the Gulf of Mexico. But this video proves otherwise. Monstermax is a ridiculous pickup truck that has eight huge tires which create enough buoyancy to allow the beast to float. The owner takes the Monstermax to Florida, where it will be taken on its maiden voyage to the ocean.

The boat ramp folks aren’t keen on the owner installing massive tires onto the truck when the rig is still in the lot. Also, the local sheriff’s office eventually arrives to inspect things. The Monstermax is a registered watercraft so it is legal to take it into the ocean.

The boat ramp is very easy to slide down and the beast will begin floating. The off-road tires’ massive treads act as paddles, and the wheels can be turned to function as a rudder. This setup is not very fast, but the owner can ride his buddy in a large boat that acts as a tow vehicle.

The Monstermax is a huge pickup truck that’s a sight to behold even on Florida’s waterways. The Coast Guard stops by to inspect the truck, while a black helicopter buzzes around the rig. Every boat around the rig takes pictures.

The Monstermax enters the Gulf of Mexico by going under a bridge. It then begins its return journey to dry land. This is not as simple as the first half of this trip. Nearly hitting one of the uprights on the bridge would have required that the driver pay an X-ray technician to assess its damage. You need to be very careful when driving up the boat ramp.

The owner was fined $70 for registering Monstermax as a boat. This seems like a small price for the enjoyment.
