Hyundai and ArmorTech have teamed up to create Equus Limousine Security.
Hyundai Motors along with consulting advisor ArmorTech has developed the Equus Limousine Security that will make its official debut at the Moscow motor show (31 August – 9 September). The vehicle measures 5,46 meters and tips the scales at 3,840 kg (8465 lbs).
It is compliant with the VR7 level of protection. In areas where it is connected to body parts, there are special “labyrinth” overlaps that protect passengers from projectiles. These overlaps can also be found in the door gaps for additional protection.
The Hyundai Equinox Limousine Security is powered a 5.0-liter Tau Tau V8 engine. It produces 430 horsepower (316 kW/ 429 PS at 6,400 RPM) and 375 lbft (509 Nm), of torque at 5,000 RPM. An eight-speed automatic transmission transfers the engine’s power to the rear wheels.
Additional security equipment includes an extra battery, reinforced hinges, engine fire suppression system, hydraulic window raisers, run-flat tires and an intercom communication system.
