While the first-ever A35 is the hot hatch of hot hatch town, those with larger bank accounts can wait for Mercedes-AMG’s second-generation A45. The A Class range-topping version was teased by Affalterbach in December’s second half. It will be unveiled later this year.

The black A45, riding low on alloy wheels with a questionable design and a set of wheels that were not very sturdy, was proud to display its four exhaust tips. The A35 is limited to dual exhausts. We are not sure the roof-mounted spoiler on the test vehicle is the final setup, considering that the A35 has a more aggressive setup.
The new A45 will feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline motor that can be tuned in two different states. The base model will have 382 horsepower, an additional six horses over the A45, while A45 S, the flagship model will be able to produce a staggering 416 horsepower to surpass even the Audi RS3 despite having a larger 2.5-liter inline-five engine.
These output numbers are not official but , an insurance company accidentally leaked them at year’s beginning. The output will be sent to a confirmed drift-happy 4Matic all wheel-drive system via a new dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission instead of the A35′ seven speed DCT setup.
Mercedes may host the public debut for the new A45 at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This could be as early as March 5, during the first press day. If this is true, then an online unveiling could take place in the coming weeks.
