Motorsport.com Expands its Global Footprint with the Launch of a Polish Language Edition

The largest global digital motorsport platform has added a 16th language edition as part of its international rollout strategy

London, UK – May 10, 2019, Motorsport Network, an integrated digital platform that hosts millions of car and racing enthusiasts, has launched its 16th edition in Polish. This extends the global rollout program of Motorsport.com.

Motorsport.com’s fan first strategy is to inspire passion for motorsport through a wide range of class-leading content. A dedicated Polish language edition has been created by Motorsport.com in response to the extraordinary rekindling Robert Kubica’s Formula 1 career.

Motorsport Network has a presence in 81 countries and is visited by 43 million people per month. Motorsport.com is one the most visited websites in the extensive digital ecosystem. It offers news, video, archive, and ticketing for automotive and motorsport.

The new Polish edition adds a new audience to Motorsport.com’s portfolio in a market that has significant potential. In 2018, new car registrations in Poland exceeded those in the UK, France and Germany. Ecommerce adoption is growing at a rapid rate of around 23% YoY. This surpasses neighboring economies like Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

According to the Reuters Institute for Journalism 16% of Polish citizens pay for online news content. This makes Poland 7 th in Europe for the propensity to pay for high quality journalism. The market for media, technology, and automotive has grown strongly over the past five years. However, Poland still holds significant potential to reach average European smart phone usage and social media adoption, which presents growth opportunities for Motorsport.com.

Poland’s motor racing affinity is dominated by Robert Kubica’s support. However, the country is also a powerhouse of other motorsport disciplines, including the FIM Speedway Grand Prix, which boasts internationally-respected two-wheeled talents such as Tomasz Gollob and Bartosz Zmarzlik, Patryk Ddek, and Maciej Janowski. Rally Poland is also based in Poland. There are many fans who follow off-road series like WRC and events like the Dakar. Notable female competitors include Malgorzata Rdest, who placed in the top ten in the inaugural W Series race in Hockenheim.

Ryszard Turski will edit the Polish edition. He is a veteran automotive and motorsport editor who previously edited the local edition of Motorsport Network’s F1 Racing. Marcin Biernacki will join him, who is the founder of Autoklub.pl, which forms the backbone for the new Motorsport.com Polish edition.

James Allen, President of Global Operations at Motorsport Network, stated that Poland is an exciting market. It has a long history of fans who are passionate about all things motorsport. However, it also offers increasing commercial opportunities. Therefore, it is logical to strategically add this language edition to our global portfolio em>
