It is also the SV model that is ‘ultra-rare.
Despite the fact that the FiatMultipla did not make it to the US, the MPV was well-known in the US because of its unique, controversial design. The fact that it was a popular meme on wheels made it even more popular. Take a look at the reviews from today to see what we mean.
Fiat pulled out of Multipla in 2010 but it remains a joke for some content creators. It is featured in AutoTopNL’s latest April Fools gag video. What did the channel do with the tall hatchback car? It was taken for a top speed run.
Why film a Multipla to run an Autobahn? AutoTopNL states that this is a unique version of the people carrier. According to the channel, Ferrari and Lamborghini were “best buddies”, combining resources to create this Lamborghini Multipla Super Veloce.
Multipla SV comes equipped with aerodynamic aids that help keep it glued to roads. A pair of canards at the front provide extra downforce. The tailgate is topped by a large rear wing. The car even has a homage to Oro Elios (a Lamborghini signature color).
The Multipla in the video isn’t going to set any speed records, despite the jokes. The Fiat’s 1.6-liter four cylinder produces 102 horsepower (76 Kilowatts) and 107 pound-feet (135 Newton-meters). According to factory figures, the top speed is 170 km/h (105 miles).
The manufacturer claimed the “Lambo” Multipla could reach 100 mph, but it failed to match its speed. The MPV couldn’t get to 100 mph, whether it was due to the old engine, bad weather or other factors. It was able to travel 140 km/h on the Autobahn, which is approximately 87 mph.
It’s still funny to see the Fiat trying to speed up on the Autobahn. Although it wasn’t fast, AutoTopNL kept it entertaining.
