Mustang nearly plows into crowd of car meet-up participants – again

Another Mustang driver, another car.

There seems to be a Mustang driver at every car meet who is reckless and wrecks as they try to leave. It happened again at the Cars and Coffee Houston meet last weekend.

The Mustang is a 2016 Shelby GT350. It has 526 horsepower (392 Kilowatts), which is clearly more than the driver is capable of handling. The driver leaves the meet and mashes the gas, then slides the tail out. The driver almost reassembles the car, but the car only briefly straightens before snapping back and skittering towards the crowd on the sidewalk.

The curb stops the GT350 from reaching the crowd. It’s also a good thing that there are many children standing exactly where the GT350 would have ended up.

Another witness saw the crash from another angle.

The driver, who appears old enough to be able to see the dangers of what is happening, quickly emerged and didn’t seem to understand the gravity. A number of men surround him quickly, with one man displaying a badge and telling everyone to follow his lead.

It is not known whether the driver will be facing any legal consequences at the time of writing. However, his car’s rear suspension may prove to be the least of his worries.

Although Cars and Coffee Meetings are a huge draw for spectators, it is clear that there will always be idiotic drivers trying to impress. Many events have begun to crack down on reckless driving and are sanctioning those who do it. It puts spectators at risk and threatens the future of the event if authorities decide to ban the meet rather than risk injury to members of the public.
