Mystery Three-Row Ford SUV Driven Around Dearborn

Could this be the Maverick, too?

Ford won’t be slowing down after the highly-anticipated debut Bronco of its SUV. The coronavirus pandemic hit the Blue Oval, as did other automakers. It was necessary to boost the market with new models. The Maverick Compact pickup trucks are one of the new models, and there have been many reports about them.

Our spy photographers spotted a Ford SUV this time while driving around Dearborn. Our spy photographers discovered that the prototype was a heavily camouflaged three-row SUV. It was seen leaving Ford’s production center.

Ford has done an excellent job of hiding the prototype and leaving no clues for us. We have noticed the long overhangs and squared off rear, which could indicate that this is the Maverick pickup. According to an insider report, while the Maverick’s rear overhang may not be long enough to accommodate a Ranger cargo mattress, it is expected that the Maverick will have a two-foot shorter bed. This is in line with the above-mentioned prototype.

The prototype could have been anything. Dearborn will soon have another three-row SUV. There are currently two three-row SUVs within the Blue Oval U.S. lineup: the Expedition, and the Explorer. It’s not difficult to imagine adding a third.

If this is the Maverick, then the timing is perfect as the compact Escape-based truck will debut in 2021.

We will be able to share more information about the new Ford model. We’ll be keeping an eye on any new developments, as usual.
