Netflix Releases a Teaser Video for Hyperdrive. It Looks Amazing

This show is all about cars leaping between skyscrapers.

This Netflix series is not about solving stubborn problems with the Millenium Falcon’s lightspeed engine. Hyperdrive focuses on cars but, as the title suggests, it’s more than just another motoring show in which cars are driven sideways in smoky burnouts. It doesn’t look like a crazy Top Gear challenge. The trailer shows cars performing everything, from rail-sliding skateboard style to conquering a gigantic teeter.

The Show Looks Definitely Interesting

Although we haven’t had much information on the program, the video trailer is quite informative. The special obstacle course was built at Eastman Business Park, Rochester, New York. The reality TV series is auto-themed and features 10 courses. Participants come from all over the globe to compete for the title of best driver. They are described by Netflix as street racers. However, the trailer shows them.

Hyperdrive

There are many occupations that competitors can hold. This means that the show will not be just about crazy driving but also the stories of those behind the wheel.

What kind of cars are we likely to see? We know that the cars are as diverse as the participants. In our first post about the show , we managed to spot an old Ford Mustang and a Mazda RX-7. We were able to see a few more Japanese cars in the trailer. A Nissan 350Z, an S13 Silvia and a second-generation Mazda RX-7 were all visible. There are also later-generation Mustangs in the mix.

Let’s go crazy!

We do see a well-mutilated classic Dodge Charger. We suspect that it is a direct nod to the Fast & Furious movie with Charlize Theron as the executive producer. This could mean Vin Diesel might make an appearance?

The series will be available to stream on Netflix starting August 21
