Officials pay a lot of attention to the back.
user vv16811 took this photo of an unrevealed example of the new model while it was being examined in Beijing. This was his only photo of the car. It was not clear why the Civic was present or why the rear was so closely examined.
Although only the front of the Civic is visible, it matches the photos released by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (below). Keep in mind that this Civic is available for sale in China. The styling may change depending on where Honda sells them. However, the vast majority of the design will remain the same.
According to reports, the Chinese-spec Civic will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in May. The North American model’s specs should be available shortly. The design is almost identical to the prototype that was released in November 2020. Although the headlights and taillights look a little different, the overall proportions remain the same.
An California Air Resources Board filing confirms that the eleventh-gen Civic is still available in the US with either a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder or a turbocharged 1.5-liter powerplant. It is not known if either one of these engines will be available in a different output. The only option for a gearbox is a CVT.
The Civic will come in sedan and five door hatchback body styles. A Civic Si sedan will also be available. The coupe is gone. A new Civic Type R will be available later.
Rumours suggest that the next-gen CTR will be the last Honda European to have a combustion engine, without any electric assistance, or being an EV pure and simple. According to some reports, the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasolineonline engine has a slightly higher output than the current 316 horsepower (236 Kilowatts), and has improved response from its turbo.
