New Acura Integra Spied, Camo Can't Hide Civic Similarities

It will debut next spring.

Two months have passed since Acura first announced the Integra would be returning. Two teaser photos have given us a glimpse of the exterior design. They show four doors, a greenhouse, and a hatchback. There are many clues that the new Acura will share its underpinnings, including the 11th-generation Honda Civic Hatchback. IntegraForums.com has released new spy photos of the sedan while it was being tested in a camouflage wrap.

Although the camo disguises a familiar-looking vehicle, it doesn’t conceal Acura’s styling details. In a teaser image, the front end is partially revealed. It features the shield grille of Acura under a hood which looks more pointed than that on the Civic. The Integra’s front bumper is unique and the lower grille opening is also unique. It appears that the Integra has a similar body crease to the Civic’s bottom doors, but this could just be an illusion.

Although we’ve seen the rear before, it revealed its four-door design and hatchback. The new spy photos offer a more detailed view of the Integra’s real. The model is shown with a unique rear bumper. Another teaser was released by the company today. It gives us our first glimpse inside the Integra. The car will be equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The teaser showed a center console that is very similar to the one found in the Civic.

Acura stated that the new Integra would be revealed in spring next year. However, if Acura continues to release teasers at the same pace, there will be very little left. We are not yet certain of the powertrain details, but we believe it will share its engines with Civic if they are sharing their underpinnings. We expect Acura will continue to release teasers about the car until its debut. And we will probably learn more about it.
