BMW reportedly makes 50.
BMW will soon launch the M4 CSL, a hotter version of its popular M4. Although it will be lighter and faster than the standard M4, it won’t be the final version. A new Whichcar.au report claims that BMW is developing a limited-run M Hommage model.
The new Hommage is said to make 600 horsepower (447kilowatts). This is more than the CSL, which produces 550hp (410kW). BMW is said to crank out 516 pound-feet (707 Newton-meters) of torque through the eight-speed ZF transmission. BMW is unlikely to equip the car with all wheel drive, and thus add weight. It’s all about lightness.
The Hommage will reach speeds of more than 186 mph (300 km/h) with the extra power. It won’t reach speeds of 200 mph (321 kph). It will be limited by the tires and company’s need for downforce.
The Hommage should have a bold, striking design. Just like the other. Whichcar.com.au reports, however, that BMW will not be changing any car’s hard points because of homologation and safety regulations. The Hommage should be equipped with a variety of new body panels, which will include aerodynamics that are more aggressive and aero elements that can be adjusted.
You should get larger lightweight wheels and yellow Matrix headlights. There should also be a variety of aero bits at the rear like a diffuser. The car should sport a more aggressive front end that is focused on winning the race track. The shock absorbers and anti-roll bars will also be adjustable. The publication states that the M Hommage may not have side-exit exhaust pipes and extended wings to ensure safety.
According to BMW, the Hommage will cost EUR600,000. That’s equivalent to $632,804 today. BMW has only produced 50 copies. Although it is not known when the Hommage will be launched, the M4CSL’s unveiling is only days away and we are eager to see them both make their debut. BMW is celebrating 50 years of performance with a number of M cars.
