The reveal is only days away.
BMW is set to unveil the HTML3 on Wednesday, September 23. Although spy photos give us an idea of the car’s design, new teaser pictures provide us with the best view yet at its front end. The best look BMW will offer us is the following. The green smoke reveals the large kidney grille, which is flanked by distinctive headlights and bright green bodywork.
However, the teaser images don’t reveal much beyond that. Two of the images are of the front, showing a little of the creased grille, black grille, and splitter. These, if true, could indicate that this is the Competition model. The headlights are also shown in the wide shots. The second set of images shows a close-up of the indentation on the M3’s head. It is barely visible in the wide angle shot. The bulge extends from the top kidney grille to the top of M3’s hood.
Fans will be pleased with the new M3’s performance specifications. The BMW 3.0-liter inline six engine will be the power source. It is twin-turbocharged. The M3’s regular model will have 473 horsepower (353 Kilowatts), while the Competition model will have 503 horsepower (375 kW). The M3 will come with either an eight-speed or six-speed manual transmission. The Competition model will be available only with the auto-gearbox. There are tradeoffs to more power.
According to rumors, the new M3 will arrive in Isle of Man Green. The color appeared darker in an earlier teaser than it did in the new images. However, this could be due to the way the light is. The Isle of Man Green, if the two colors match, will be noticed in a parking lot. Although the HTML4 will be debuting alongside it, the M3 will reportedly wear Sao Paulo Yellow. Both the M3 as well as the M4 will arrive in the USA sometime next year.
