New BMW X5 Spy Photos Preview the Popular SUV’s Modest Design

You’ll see more changes inside.

The BMW X5, a beloved model, will soon get its mid-cycle refresh. New spy photos reveal that the SUV is sporting camouflage on the front and back fascias. This conceals the minor styling changes BMW has made to the model. While there won’t be any major changes on the outside, BMW will make interior improvements to incorporate its latest technology.

New slimmer headlights will be fitted to the X5 facelift. They sit above a new front bumper. Camouflage cannot hide the central intake opening and the vertical air curtains. BMW covers the grille completely, so it’s difficult to spot any design changes. However, it may get new styling. It appears that BMW will only make minor changes to the rear, even though the camouflage may suggest otherwise.

The high-performance X5 M will get the new styling. However, the underside of the car will not change. The 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that powers the current model will be used in the updated model. In the X5 M Competition, it produces 617 horsepower (460 kilowatts). We will have to wait to see the complete reveal for details on the powertrain changes to the mainstream X5 models.

A new exterior styling will be accompanied by a redesign of the interior, which dramatically alters the layout. BMW’s latest infotainment system iDrive8 and the large, dash-mounted dual screen display should be available to the X5. The redesign of the dash will bring the X5 into line with the rest.

Although we don’t know the exact date BMW will release the new X5, the crossover is expected to be available before the end. The BMW SUV was supposed to be revealed last month but it never came to pass. We don’t know if the X5 will be late for its reveal party due to ongoing supply chain problems. It should arrive in time for a model 2023.
